Wild Tea Kombucha
I worked as a Digital Marketing Assistant for Wild Tea Kombucha; a female-founded kombucha company based in Calgary, AB. Throughout my time there, I focused on creating campaign ideas, communicating those ideas with the team (and why they work), creating the content & design of those campaigns, implementing them, and creating a follow-up report on how the campaigns did. As well, I assisted the marketing team with project organization, performing administrative tasks to ensure the functionality of marketing activities, employing online marketing analytics to gather information from the web and social media pages, preparing promotional presentations, organizing promotional events, and composing & posting online content for the company’s social media page and website.

LOVED.
Labour Day weekend is not only a holiday but also the start of Calgary Pride! WTK collaborated with Mr. Fab (Ryan Massel) to create a limited edition PRIDE kombucha - LOVED. Ruby Slipper. I assisted in every step of the way - from creating the sell sheet to designing the label on the can. Once we had the actual product, we then did a photoshoot with Ryan as well as take some product photos. For the preparation for the launch, I designed and created content including an email campaign, social media posts, and blog posts. Wild Tea Kombucha also decided that 100% of the profits from LOVED. was to go to Skipping Stone - a Calgary-based foundation that helps connect trans and gender diverse youth, adults, and families with comprehensive and low barrier access to the support they need and deserve. I also built content surrounding Skipping Stones which further pushed WTK’s LOVED. campaign goals. Working throughout the LOVED. campaign, it was an amazing experience - from the start to gathering the assets for the campaign, and finally attending the launch party.
Social Media Content
Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook content creation was a daily task I worked on. First, I would take a look at the WTK’s competitors, as well as the Kombucha community and what is trending currently, to come up with original inspiration and ideas. I would also take a look at the analytics on the website and social platforms to see what was performing well. Based on all of those variables, I created multiple posts and TikToks/Reel (see below) that our following wanted to see and would actively engage with. By doing so, I helped optimize the algorithm to work in our favour. I used a mix of Adobe XD, Canva, After Effects, and my own photography skills to create WTK’s content.
One of my favourite things to do was reach out to influencers, create genuine connections, and send PR packages out. I effectively targeted more potential customers by having the influencers share their experience/our products on their platform - not to mention I absolutely LOVED creating lasting bonds with these people.
In addition, I organized multiple campaigns including the Soda campaign, #StayWild, LOVED., and WTK’s CBC collaboration - keep scrolling to see the magic.
#Staywild
One of the characteristics of WTK’s customer base is “uniqueness” and “healthy lifestyle.” In addition, Co-Founder Emily Baadsvik initially created Wild Tea Kombucha as something different; a kombucha company that “breaks the rules” of a traditional kombucha company & is wild and out there. I wanted to create a campaign that embodied all of this - as well as including the company’s tagline of “Stay Wild!” I created the #StayWild campaign as a way to reach out to our community, embody the company’s morals, and increase our engagement/exposure.
THE RESULTS: more engagement/followers, a stronger relationship with our customers base, and an increase in online presents.
